We install and service BYD Battery-Box storage across Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire. DES Renewable Energy is one of a small number of BYD approved installers in the UK, and BYD is one of the three battery brands we fit most often on homes here on the south coast.

Why homeowners choose BYD

BYD is one of the largest battery manufacturers in the world, and its Battery-Box range uses a modular blade-cell design built around lithium iron phosphate chemistry. In practice that gives you three things most people care about:

• You only buy the capacity you need. The Battery-Box stacks in modules from roughly 2.6 kWh upwards, so a smaller home can start modestly and add a module later rather than paying for storage it will never use.
• It fits alongside solar you already own. BYD works well in an AC-coupled setup, which means you can often keep your existing inverter instead of replacing a working one.
• Long warranty cover. Battery-Box units typically carry around a ten to twelve year warranty, depending on the model and how the system is configured.

Backup during a power cut is possible with a compatible setup, and we will tell you honestly at survey whether your property and consumer unit suit it.

BYD or something else?

We fit all the leading brands and we would rather point you at the right one than sell you the one in the van. BYD tends to suit people who want flexible, expandable storage and who may be keeping an existing inverter. If you want one large unit with premium whole-home backup, a Tesla Powerwall may fit better. If you are building a flexible hybrid solar and battery system from scratch, look at Sunsynk.
