Your local team for solar solutions.
Educational institutions are in a unique position to lead by example in sustainability, and we’re here to help you make that transition seamlessly. We specialise in designing and installing solar energy systems tailored to schools, colleges, and universities — helping reduce operational costs while promoting environmental responsibility. With minimal disruption and maximum efficiency, we deliver solar solutions that work for your schedule, safety requirements, and long-term energy goals.
Our expert team handles everything from feasibility studies to installation and maintenance, ensuring your institution gets the most reliable, cost-effective, and future-proof solar system. Beyond energy savings, solar power becomes a powerful teaching tool — allowing your students to learn about renewable energy through real-world applications right on campus.
Solar panels for schools across Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire
Schools use most of their electricity in daylight hours during term time, which is exactly when solar panels generate. That makes solar panels for schools one of the best-matched uses of solar there is: most of what the roof produces is used on site instead of being bought from the grid.
We design and install systems for primary and secondary schools, academies, colleges and independent schools. Our own MCS certified team does the work, never subcontractors, and we plan every install around term dates, safeguarding and site access so lessons carry on as normal.
What we handle for your school
- A free site survey and a report showing expected generation and savings, built from your own bills or half-hourly meter data
- System design, DNO approval and all of the paperwork
- Installation planned around term dates, with work areas fenced off and access routes agreed with your site team
- Optional battery storage to use more of your solar after the school day
- Live monitoring you can use in lessons, plus ongoing maintenance
Funding options for schools and academy trusts
You can buy a system outright, spread the cost with finance, or use a Power Purchase Agreement, where there is no upfront cost and the school pays only for the solar electricity it uses. See how a solar PPA works.

Common questions
Will installation disrupt the school day?
We schedule work for holidays or quieter periods wherever we can, keep work areas fenced off and agree everything with your site team in advance.
What happens in the summer holidays when the school is closed?
Surplus electricity can be exported to the grid and paid for through a Smart Export Guarantee tariff, or stored in a battery for later.
Do we need planning permission?
Most roof-mounted systems on school buildings fall under permitted development, but listed buildings and conservation areas need checking. We confirm this during the survey.
Cost Savings
Educational institutions often face tight budgets — and solar can offer significant long-term savings. By reducing dependence on grid electricity, your school can free up funds to reinvest in learning resources, technology, and facility upgrades.
With the ability to offset a large portion of daytime energy usage, solar installations deliver year-on-year reductions in energy costs. Over time, these savings can amount to hundreds of thousands of pounds, all while enhancing your school’s financial sustainability.
Learning Opportunity
Installing solar panels doesn’t just reduce your carbon footprint — it also provides a hands-on educational opportunity. Schools and universities can integrate their solar system data into the curriculum, offering students a first-hand understanding of renewable energy, sustainability, and environmental stewardship.
With live performance monitoring and interactive displays, students can see solar energy in action, encouraging engagement with science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM) subjects. It's a valuable teaching asset that reinforces your institution’s commitment to climate leadership.
Sustainable Image
A solar-powered campus is a clear demonstration of your institution’s commitment to sustainability. Parents, students, and stakeholders increasingly look for organisations that take climate action seriously — and a visible solar investment sends the right message.
Being an early adopter of green energy also enhances your reputation, aligning your school with environmental best practices and opening doors to government incentives or sustainability awards. It’s a strategic move that reflects your values while delivering measurable benefits.
