Duracell Energy Installers

DES Renewable Energy is a Duracell Energy installation partner. We design, install and support Duracell Energy home battery systems across Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire, from a single Dura5 added to an existing solar array through to a Dura16 running an all-electric home with a heat pump and an EV.
Duracell Energy systems are designed, tested and supported from the UK, in Toddington in the Cotswolds, with UK-based customer and technical support behind every install.

What we install
Dura5
5.12 kWh LiFePO4 modules that stack, so your storage can grow with you. IP65 for indoor or outdoor fitting, rated for 8,000 cycles, and backed by a 10 year warranty.
Dura16
A 16 kWh battery in a single compact unit for homes with higher demand: heat pumps, EV charging, electric cooking and heating. Rated to deliver around 95,000 kWh over its life.
Dura-i hybrid inverter
Single-phase hybrid inverters from 3.6 kW to 6 kW that run your solar panels and your battery from one unit, with a 10 year warranty. We size the inverter to your roof and your usage.
Duracell Energy App and Tariff Intelligence
See generation, battery level and usage live from your phone. Tariff Intelligence links the battery to your electricity tariff so it charges on the cheap overnight rate and runs your home through the expensive hours.
Why Duracell Energy
Why Duracell Energy with DES
We are MCS certified and our own in-house teams do the work, never subcontracted. We have fitted Duracell Energy systems on new solar installs and as battery retrofits to existing arrays, and we handle the DNO application, the commissioning, the app set-up and the aftercare. If a Duracell Energy system is not the right fit for your home we will tell you, because we install several other brands too and can quote for whichever suits you best.
Our process
Common questions
Can I add a Duracell Energy battery to solar panels I already have?
Yes. The Dura5 and Dura16 both retrofit to existing arrays. Depending on your current inverter we either pair the battery with a Dura-i hybrid inverter or use an AC-coupled set-up. We will tell you which at the survey.
Do I need solar panels to benefit?
No. A battery-only system charges from the grid on a cheap overnight tariff and powers the house during the day and evening. Many of our Duracell Energy installs are battery first, with solar added later.
How big a battery do I need?
Most homes land between 5 and 16 kWh. We look at your annual usage, whether you have an EV or heat pump, and your tariff, then size the system so it pays back sensibly rather than simply going as big as possible.
Will it run the house in a power cut?
Backup depends on how the system is configured and which inverter is fitted. Ask us at the survey and we will explain what is possible for your home.
What warranty do I get?
Duracell Energy provides a 10 year warranty on the Dura5 battery and the Dura-i inverter, supported from the UK by Puredrive Energy, plus our own workmanship warranty, insured through IWA.
