GivEnergy Owners: Support, Servicing and Replacements
GivEnergy Ltd entered administration on 9 April 2026 and has ceased trading. If you have a GivEnergy battery, inverter or EV charger at home, you have probably found that the company you bought it from is no longer there to call. We are, and we can help.
First, the good news: your system should still be working
Industry guidance is clear that home battery systems already fitted and commissioned generally carry on charging and discharging exactly as they did before. The hardware does not stop working because the manufacturer has gone. If your system is running normally today, there is no emergency and nothing you need to rush into.
The app and monitoring portal are operated by a separate company, GivEnergy Software Ltd, which did not enter administration. That is why your monitoring may still be live even though the manufacturer is not.
What has actually changed
- No manufacturer behind the warranty. Product warranty claims against GivEnergy Ltd now sit with the administrator like any other creditor claim. Realistically, most owners should not expect a manufacturer replacement.
- No new spare parts from the manufacturer. Replacement inverters and battery modules are no longer being produced or supplied by GivEnergy.
- Your installer may also be affected. Some installers who sold GivEnergy heavily have had their own problems. If the company that fitted your system has gone quiet, you are not stuck.
What we can do for you
We are an MCS-certified installer based in Three Legged Cross, Wimborne, with our own employed engineers. We work on systems we did not install, and we are happy to take on GivEnergy kit.
- Fault finding and diagnosis on GivEnergy inverters, batteries and EV chargers.
- Health check and report if you simply want to know where you stand and what your options are.
- Inverter replacement with a current, supported brand where a GivEnergy unit has failed, keeping your existing panels and, where possible, your existing battery.
- Adding storage capacity alongside or in place of an existing GivEnergy battery.
- Taking over servicing for systems whose original installer is no longer trading.
Should you replace it now?
In most cases, no. If the system is working, the sensible thing is to leave it alone, keep an eye on it, and plan rather than panic. It is worth acting sooner if your system has already developed a fault, if it is showing errors, or if it has stopped exporting or charging properly, because those are the cases where parts availability actually matters.
We will tell you honestly which of those you are in. If the answer is that you do not need to spend anything, that is what we will say.
