Agricultural Solar Panels for Farms

How can we help?

Your local team for solar solutions.

Farming and agriculture are energy-intensive industries with unique power demands. By partnering with us for your solar installation, you gain access to tailored renewable energy solutions designed specifically for rural and agricultural settings. Whether you're powering barns, cold storage units, irrigation systems or processing equipment, we deliver high-efficiency solar PV systems that help you reduce energy costs, future-proof your farm, and increase profitability.

We bring deep experience in working with landowners, estate managers, and rural businesses across the UK. Our expert team handles everything from planning permission and grid connection to installation and long-term support, ensuring a seamless process. With durable, weather-resistant components and flexible mounting options, our systems are designed to thrive in tough agricultural environments while delivering decades of clean, free energy.

Agricultural solar panels for farms across the South

Farm buildings are made for solar. Large barn roofs, grain stores and livestock sheds have room for systems far bigger than a house, and dairies, cold stores, workshops, ventilation and pumps use a lot of electricity during the day, when solar is generating.

We install agricultural solar panels on barns and outbuildings, ground-mounted arrays on spare land, and battery storage so you can use more of your own power and keep critical equipment running. Every system is designed and fitted by our own MCS certified team.

What we can install on your farm

Paying for farm solar

Farm businesses can buy outright and usually claim capital allowances on the equipment, spread the cost with finance, or choose a Power Purchase Agreement with no upfront cost. Your accountant can confirm what applies to you, and we provide the figures they need.

Common questions

Will our barn roof take the weight?
We check the structure and condition of the roof during the survey. Older asbestos cement roofs often need replacing or overcladding first, and we will tell you straight away if that is the case.

Can we export what we do not use?
Yes. Surplus electricity can be exported to the grid and paid for through a Smart Export Guarantee tariff, subject to DNO approval, which we apply for on your behalf.

How much land does a ground-mounted array need?
It depends on the size of system you need. We design around your fields, gateways and how the land is used.

Cost Savings

Agriculture often involves around-the-clock operations, from lighting and refrigeration to machinery and pumping. Solar power can drastically reduce your reliance on expensive grid electricity, particularly during peak tariff times.

By generating your own power on-site, you protect your farm from rising utility prices and gain long-term energy independence. Any excess energy can be stored or exported, creating additional income streams through smart export tariffs.

Sustainable Operations

Consumers and buyers increasingly expect food and produce to come from environmentally responsible sources. Switching to solar is a visible and measurable way to demonstrate your commitment to sustainable agriculture.

Reducing your farm’s carbon footprint not only aligns with UK net-zero targets but also boosts your reputation within the community and wider supply chain. You may even become eligible for sustainability grants or subsidies that reward green investments.

Grid Resilience

Many rural areas experience unreliable power supplies or suffer from high connection charges. A solar PV system paired with battery storage can stabilise your electricity access and protect your farm against outages or grid limitations.

With more predictable and secure energy availability, your operations become more efficient, reducing the risk of spoilage, downtime, or costly delays — critical for time-sensitive processes like dairy or crop production.
