Solar Installation Westbury
Solar panel installers in Westbury
Westbury is one of our Wiltshire bases. We have a branch here, which means solar installations across west Wiltshire aren’t a long-distance job for us — our team is local to the area rather than travelling down from somewhere else when the diary allows.
We install solar PV, battery storage and EV chargers across Westbury, Warminster, Trowbridge, Bradford-on-Avon, Frome and the surrounding villages.
What solar looks like in Westbury
Good roofs, mostly. Westbury has a healthy mix of postwar and modern housing with straightforward pitched roofs — often better suited to solar than the older stock in the Dorset coastal towns. Orientation and shading still decide it, but the starting point here is generally favourable.
The older centre needs more care. Around the town centre and the older streets there’s stone and period property, and some of it sits within conservation area boundaries. Panels generally can’t go on a roof slope forming the principal elevation if it fronts a highway — a rear or side roof is usually still fine. We check this before quoting, not after.
Inland means no salt air. Unlike our coastal installs, corrosion on mounting hardware is much less of a concern here. It’s a small thing that shows up over twenty-five years.
Rural properties and outbuildings. West Wiltshire has a lot of larger plots, barns and agricultural buildings. Those often suit bigger systems, and sometimes ground-mounted arrays where the roof isn’t right — though ground mounts have their own planning considerations.
Does solar work this far inland?
Weighing it up? Our guide to the advantages and disadvantages of solar energy gives you both sides.
Yes. Wiltshire doesn’t get quite the daylight totals of the south coast, but the difference is smaller than people assume, and it isn’t the deciding factor. Roof orientation, shading and how much of your own generation you actually use matter far more than being twenty miles further from the sea.
Panels run on daylight rather than direct sunshine, and they generate on overcast days too — just at a lower rate. What counts is the annual total, not any one grey week in November.
Why use us
We have a branch here. Westbury is one of our two Wiltshire bases, alongside Salisbury. We’re not quoting your job from three counties away.
MCS certified and NAPIT registered. MCS matters practically — you need it to claim the Smart Export Guarantee and get paid for the electricity you export back to the grid.
No subcontractors. Every install is carried out by our own team, so we’re accountable for the work on your roof.
An insurance-backed guarantee that protects your workmanship warranty even if we were to cease trading — worth more than it sounds given how many solar firms have come and gone recently.
Octopus Energy Trusted Partner, which opens up time-of-use tariffs that pair well with battery storage.
A straight answer. If your roof is too shaded, faces the wrong way, or needs work first, we’ll say so rather than sell you something that won’t perform.
